5. Goldman Sachs Says: “No AI Bubble”

Given Nvidia’s incredible performance this year, and more generally the fact that AI has seemed a more powerful force in the stock market than interest rate hikes and bank crises, one could be forgiven for thinking were in a bubble. Not so, says Goldman Sachs, who argues AI is still just beginning.

4. A New AI Model Can Detect Eye Disease

UK scientists have just published a paper in Nature about a new LLM trained specifically to understand the retina. In addition to uses detecting eye disease, the AI can also use retina scans to detect signs of other conditions including hypertension and Parkinson’s.

3. Adobe Releases AI Tools Out of Beta

For the last few months, all of Adobe’s much-buzzed-about generative AI tools (such as Generative Fill) were available only in Beta test versions of the apps. As of this week, their Firefly genAI models have been released to the wild, including their Enterprise model which promises copyright-safe image generation.

2. Stability Releases Stable Audio

We are suckers over here at The AI Breakdown for audio generation models, and excited to see this field advance with Stability’s release of Stable Audio. The demo was so popular it crashed the site, but we hear the model is pretty good.

A fairly unbelievable number of tech luminaries descended on D.C. yesterday for a closed-door summit about the future of AI and AI regulation. Reports suggest there was some tension and disagreement, but that overall there was broad agreement of the need for government involvement.
