5. Microsoft's AI ascension is complete
AI is clearly working for Microsoft. At yesterday's annual Build developer conference, Microsoft said that since integrating AI features Bing's mobile downloads have 8x'd. Important announcements include its Copilot being integrated into Windows 11, plugins...well...everywhere, and ChatGPT rolling out browsing with Bing to all free users starting this week.
Windows ✨Co-Pilot
This is the biggest thing in AI this year. All windows machines will have an AI agent at the OS level. It's native. Omni-present.

4. The White House doesn’t like AI surveillance
The US gov't engagement with AI continues to deepen. On Tuesday, the White House said they're holding a listening session with workers to ask how their employers are using AI to monitor their activities. Big support here. Surveillance = bad.
3. 1 TRILLION parameters
Like the famous Dr. Evil scene, or this brilliant Onion Op-Ed, the numbers just keep going up. Intel announced not only a new 2 Exaflop supercomputer, but a 1 trillion parameter model trained on scientific texts and designed for research and scientific use cases. As others wonder if the race for bigger data sets is wrong, Intel is heading the other direction.
2. Is AI "demonic"?
That's what Ice Cube says in a savagely titled new Fortune piece "Ice Cube, musician who became famous rapping over samples, says A.I. is ‘demonic’ for doing a very similar thing." While the debate about AI music rages, the big industry players are hedging their bets. UMG just signed a deal with sound wellness company Endel to allow artists to use AI to create "mood music soundscapes."
1. Adobe's new AI photoshop is blowing minds
Adobe is the big winner of the last 24 hours, as people get their hands on the new "Generative Fill" feature. This one is better as a show than a tell, so check out the below and then imagine the possibilities.
It's been 13 hours since 'Generative Fill' was released in Adobe Photoshop & the results are *incredible*. 🔥
Now, the only limit is imagination. We have entered a new era of creativity.
Here are 12 I have found that are super impressive.
