The Recording Industry Association of America is serious about its copyright protections. The group has requested that the US government add voice cloning sites to an official list of entities that promote counterfeiting and piracy.

4. ElevenLabs Dubbing
The dubbing wars heats up! Startups like Wondercraft have been advancing with dubbing for podcasts and videos, and recently both Spotify and YouTube have announced integrations of similar features. ElevenLabs joins the party with 29-language dubbing.
Two* new ElevenLabs models out:
1. An impressive dubbing model converts videos to new languages, preserving original voices/performances.
2. A spectacular music model converts songs into karaoke versions, perfectly modeling drunk but earnest singers.* These are the same model.

Over the summer, startups at a handful of AI companies were presented by the media as a major sign of hype waning. Now, The Information is reporting that Deepgram has cut 20% of staff. Our take at The AI Breakdown is that this is a pretty natural process in an industry that has seen a ton of funding and startups. Consolidation is inevitable!
