5. AI Helps Figure Out Where Plato is Buried

The latest update from the Vesuvius Challenge is that a team out of the University of Pisa in Italy has deciphered a scroll which has given us knew information about famous philosopher Plato, including details about his life and even a precise location for where he was buried.

4. ChatGPT Memory Feature Update

File this one under “seems small; is huge.” ChatGPT’s improved memory features are coming online, giving users the ability to have much better long-term control over how the model performs for them.

3. High Costs of AI Come Into Focus

Numerous articles over the weekend pointed out the (obvious to anyone paying attention) fact that it costs a LOT to compete in the AI space. The implications are big for the role of big tech and the likely wave of startup consolidation coming.

According to new Bloomberg reporting, OpenAI is still very much in the running to power AI features on Apple’s upcoming iOS 18 update. A “ChatGPT moment”got this whole thing started; could another ChatGPT moment punch us to the next level of popular adoption?
