4. Google’s New Med-Gemini Outperforming
Google released a paper about their new Med-Gemini model. The models are built on Gemini 1.0 and 1.5 but customized for medicine. On the MedQA benchmark they scored a 91.1%, significantly surpassing the previous state of the art.

3. Another Newspaper Lawsuit Against OpenAI
Another week, another group of newspapers suing OpenAI and Microsoft for copyright infringement. This time it’s a group of 8 papers including the Chicago Tribune and the Denver Post. As always, the lawyers are the true winners.
Sun Sentinel, seven other newspapers sue Microsoft and OpenAI for copyright violations. Lawsuit accuses 2 tech firms of “purloining” the papers’ reporting without compensation to create products that provide information that was “plagiarized and stolen”

2. The AI Lobbying Landscape
TIME has written a piece profiling the explosive growth in lobbying around AI policy. The number of groups engaged in AI lobbying is up approximately 300%. To be honest, can’t really see this slowing down any time soon.
1. AI-Booming Amazon Announces Q Assistant
Amazon’s revenue for the most recent quarter was up 13%. Both revenue and profit growth exceeded analyst expectations, and AI demand in their cloud business was the big driver. The company also rebranded their CodeWhisperer to “Q” and made it more widely available.
Amazon star of the show was the AWS 17% growth and well ahead of whisper numbers. Microsoft, Google, and now Amazon robust cloud results this q which speaks to an accelerated shift by enterprises to move workloads to the cloud. AI the golden goose, cloud setting the stage 🔥🍿🐂
