5. AI PC Era on Display at CES
CES takes place this week in Las Vegas. The annual consumer electronics show is a bellwether for technology trends and this year it’s all about AI coming to personal computers. Take for example HP’s Spectre laptops.
The entire AI ecosystem will be on display at #CES2024.
From chips to generative AI tools to AI PCs to robots, we're going to see how artificial intelligence can boost a variety of technologies throughout our lives.

4. Deloitte Launches Chatbot for Employees
AI is coming to the Big Four consulting firms. Deloitte is rolling out a custom chatbot called PairD to help employees increase productivity in areas including presentations, writing emails and coding. A leading indicator of where enterprises are headed with AI this year?
About 75,000 Deloitte staff have been given access to a generative artificial intelligence chatbot to create PowerPoint presentations and write emails and code in an attempt to boost productivity.

3. Magic the Gathering Creator in Hot Water Over AI Use
Wizards of the Coast, already in hot water with Magic the Gathering fans after a big round of pre-Christmas layoffs, is now on the outs after using AI in a social media campaign after pledging not to. Is this sort of outrage enough to get companies to think twice about their AI strategies?
I guess the whole ad campaign was made with A/I generated imagery, then retouched to give it a semblance of man-made craft.

2. Nvidia Launching China-focused AI Chip
In the great game of compliance arbitrage, now that the US has implemented stricter prohibitions around AI chip exports to China, Nvidia is set to begin mass production on a new chip that will allow them to continue to compete in the market.
WATCH: US chipmaker Nvidia plans to begin mass production of H20 chips it designed for China to comply with US export rules in the second quarter of 2024, two people familiar with the matter said reut.rs/3HaTHoj

1. e/ia? Andrej Karpathy Tries to Rebrand AI
As the narrative battle between the EAs and the e/acc’s heats up, OpenAI’s Andrej Karpathy has introduced a new designation: “e/ia - Intelligence Amplification.” Does the distinction and clarity that the technology is meant to augment, not replace, humans matter?
e/ia - Intelligence Amplification
- Does not seek to build superintelligent God entity that replaces humans.
- Builds “bicycle for the mind” tools that empower and extend the information processing capabilities of humans.
- Of all humans, not a top percentile.
