5. Morgan Stanley Names a Head of AI
AI is infiltrating the world of finance, just like every other industry. The latest example is that Morgan Stanley has promoted a veteran of its wealth management division to run AI across the firm. What that means, no one knows, but it’s provocative. It gets the kids going!
New firmwide-head of #AI named by @MorganStanley as Wall Street leans into the #GenerativeAI era

My take: Fast-becoming one of the most important roles for strategic #innovation and transformation.

2. A 32-Hour Workweek Bill Sites AI as Justification
Bernie Sanders and other Senate dems have proposed a new law mandating a 32-hour work week. One of the pieces of logic their presenting? You guessed it: productivity increases from AI.
Moving to a 32-hour workweek with no loss of pay is not a radical idea. It's time for working people to benefit from advancements in AI, automation, and new technology, not just corporate CEOs and wealthy stockholders on Wall Street.

1. Apple Buys AI Startup as AI Race Heats Up
‘Member when Apple ditched its car project to focus on AI? Well, the Cupertino king has just acquired DarwinAI, a Canadian startup that has built AI for visually inspecting components during manufacturing. What comes next Apple, what comes next?
Apple quietly purchased an AI startup this year—and we might see the first fruits of that purchase in this year's big iPhone software release.
