There are a slew of AI copyright related lawsuits out there right now, but in one in California, a judge has dismissed a number of claims from artists who say their work was improperly used to train AI models from companies like Stability AI.

4. This Nonprofit Just Bought $500M in AI Chips
Jed McCaleb made billions in the crypto space, and now a nonprofit he created is buying half a billion dollars of Nvidia chips to populate a set of datacenters in an attempt to help relieve the AI chip shortage.

Rishi Sunak’s AI Safety Summit gets a boost as Elon Musk becomes one of (if not the) most high profile attendees of the event. The last few weeks had seen withdrawals from a number of European leaders, so this should provide some momentum.

2. Google to Invest $2B in Anthropic
Hot on the heels of a $4B investment from Amazon, Anthropic is also partnering up with Google for an investment worth up to $2B. Relatedly, Anthropic also signed a deal with Google Cloud worth around $3B. The AI Proxy War is heating up!

Google has already invested $500 million as part of the deal, while the outstanding $1.5 billion will be paid over time, according to The Wall Street Journal.

1. Biden Executive Order on AI
On Monday, the White House released the much anticipated Executive Order on Artificial Intelligence. Among other actions, the EO orders advanced models to share information from their testing and red teaming. As one might imagine, reactions to the EO are pretty diverse.
