We’re in the midst of a very exciting experiment in AI learning. Each day this month, I’m sharing tutorials, case studies and challenges with a community of AI learners who are trying to integrate AI into their personal and professional lives. The paid January beta registration will open next week.

5. OpenAI Partners with Axel Springer

Even as copyright battles and questions of the legality of model training hover, the big AI labs are building partnerships with key content creators. The latest example is a deal worth tens of millions between OpenAI and Politico and Business Insider publisher Axel Springer that will see their content used to train OpenAI models and referenced explicitly in ChatGPT results.

4. Stability AI Releases 3D Models

Stability has announced Zero123, a new model for rendering 3D objects from an input image. 2024 is shaping up to be a year of a mass explosion of creativity in digital animation and filmmaking.

3. “Outfit Anyone”

Speaking of an explosion in animation, a new tool called Outfit Anyone is ripping across the pages of Twitter. The applications range from entertainment content creation to at home virtual try on.

2. Gemini Pro API Goes Live

After their big announcement last week, Google has pushed Gemini Pro live for developers. Remember this is the version of the model that is theoretically around the quality of GPT-3.5. First impressions seem to be positive if not overwhelmingly impressed.

1. Is the ChatGPT-4.5 “Leak” Real?

The AI rumor mill is going CRAZY right now. There are indications that Google rushed the release of Gemini Pro in part because of an anticipated imminent release of GPT-4.5. What’s more, there is a “leak” of a screenshot showing GPT-4.5 on the OpenAI webpage — although even the most prominent previous leakers aren’t sure if it’s real.
