5. Perplexity Updates

One of the more under-the-radar and beloved LLM interfaces for those in the know, Perplexity, has pushed a number of new updates. Those include updates to LlaMa Chat as well as a new file upload feature that allows users to chat directly with files.

4. A16Z’s Economic Case for Generative AI

Between Marc Andreessen’s anti-AI-safety media tour and a bevy of blog posts, A16Z is definitely settling into a role of pro-AI booster. This latest post lays out what they call the economic case for generative AI.

3. AI-Powered Brain Implants

One of the oft-touted benefits of advanced AI are its medical use cases, and this story suggests those opportunities may be more than wishful thinking. 2. Amazon’s AI Strategy

Earnings calls continue, and the latest report comes from Amazon, whose CEO Andy Jassy said “every one of our teams is working on building generative AI applications that reinvent and enhance their customers’ experience.” Details however, were more scant, with Jassy saying generative AI will “help us be more cost-effective and streamlined in how we run operations in various businesses to the absolute heart of every customer experience in which we offer.”

1. New Features Make ChatGPT More Useful

ChatGPT gets a slate of user experience upgrades which should make it even more functional on a day-to-day basis. Those updates include uploading multiple files, suggested prompts, and GPT-4 by default.
