5. Biden Robocall Faker Faces $6M Fine & Prison
The political consultant who created a deepfake President Biden robocall in advance of the New Hampshire primary faces $6M in fines, along with more than two dozen criminal charges.

4. Google, Meta and OpenAI Are Hollywood Deal-Hunting
Generative video is clearly heating up behind the scenes. Bloomberg reports that many of the major labs, including Google, Meta and OpenAI are all trying to cut deals with Hollywood studios around not only data for training but seemingly other creative AI uses as well.

3. Elon Warns of Future Where AI Does All the Jobs
Fewer jobs, more money, no purpose. That’s Elon Musk’s warning about a possible future where AI takes over a significant portion of the work humans currently do. Do you think this is likely? And if it happens, is it as bad as Elon seems to think?

In a future where money and work are no issue, Musk described existential issues of humans lacking purpose

2. OpenAI Reverses Course on Nondisparagement
For the last week, there has been a fierce conversation about OpenAI’s practices when employees lead the company. TL;DR the company has been accused of threatening to take away equity if people don’t agree to aggressive non-disparagement clauses. OpenAI has explicitly announced to all employees that that will not happen.
I've gotten confirmation from multiple former OpenAI employees that the company emailed this afternoon to state that the company "will not enforce" nondisparagement and nonsolicitation agreements in connection with their employment with OpenAI.

1. Google’s AI Overviews are Shockingly Bad
Remember when Google got flak for its a-historical image generations? Well now the whole internet is talking about their AI Overviews, which are suggesting among other things that people should eat a rock every day, that Barack Obama was Muslim, and that depressed people should consider jumping off the Golden Gate Bridge.
I couldn’t believe it before I tried it. Google needs to fix this asap..
