5. 100,000 ChatGPT Credentials Leaked on Dark Web

Global cybersecurity company Group-IB has identified over 100,000 sets of ChatGPT credentials within the logs of info stealing malware that trades on dark web marketplaces. The number of compromised accounts reached a peak in May of 26,802. DFA and stay safe our there!

100k+ ChatGPT accounts have been leaked on the dark web, as reported by Group-IB.
The majority (12,632) of the compromised credentials trace back to India, but users in many other countries were affected.

4. German's Biggest Paper Cuts 20% of Workforce for AI

The Bild tabloid is planning to cut hundreds of jobs and increase its usage of artificial intelligence. In a memo obtained by CNN, the company said that traditional roles like editors and proofreaders will "no longer exist as they do today."

3. Dropbox Launches $50m AI Fund, AI Features

Earlier this year, Dropbox laid off hundreds of people to re-align around AI goals. Today the company announced some new efforts on that front, including a $50m venture fund; a universal search bar that can search across third party tools; and Dropbox AI which summarizes and extracts info from files stored in Dropbox.

Next is Dropbox AI for files. Dropbox AI lets you summarize and ask questions of your files, especially big PDFs and documents like contracts or white papers. This has been a huge time saver for me and we’re starting to roll it out to select Pro and Business customers today.

2. Schumer Reveals AI Legislative Framework

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer announced the "SAFE Innovation framework," standing for security, accountability, foundations and explain -- four of the five principles underpinning his approach. The fifth is innovation, which Schumer says "must be our North Star." Not much meat on the bone yet, but another clear indication of the growing importance of AI policy.

I've been in DC for 3 days and it's insane how everyone is talking about AI with the Hill starting to take action (Biden yesterday, Schumer today, Science committee hearing tomorrow). Great to see that it's moved to the forefront of policy. It's DC AI week!

On Wednesday, Marvel's latest show Secret Invasion premiered, and the thing everyone was talking about was its AI-generated title sequence. Yet another Rorschach test, some people are absolutely incensed about it, while others thing it's an amazing milestone.
