5. AMD Earnings; A Dedicated China AI Chip?
In a huge shocker, Wall Street is liking what it’s hearing from the would-be Nvidia competitor. On its quarterly earning’s call, AMD discussed a ramp up in production of its MI300 chips, as well as an effort to make a chip for the Chinese market that is compliant with US export restrictions (assuming the US doesn’t put the kibosh on even lower powered AI chip exports).
AMD's CEO says it may build an AI chip specifically for the China market, similar to what Nvidia did after the US imposed restrictions on tech exports. This is the kind of effort that is drawing increasing scrutiny in Washington. via @ianmking 🧵

4. Video Translation & Lip-Syncing to Any Language
One of the most exciting impacts of AI could be to radically break down linguistic barriers. Sync Labs has been teasing an AI translation and lip-syncing model that could have huge implications for content creators.
2 weeks ago my demo went viral.
3M+ views, 10k+ dms, 2k+ leads.
to show my gratitude, @synclabs_ai is giving away our lip-syncing API for free for 72 hours.

3. YouTube AI Summaries
Speaking of content creators, YouTube might soon be getting an AI upgrade in the form of video summaries designed to help users better figure out what they want to watch. YouTube is currently beta testing the feature with a small handful of users and creators.
2. AI Gives Breast Cancer Detection a 20% Boos
This week, a study published in The Lancet Oncology showed that a single radiologist supported with AI were able to identify breast cancer 20% more often than a team of two radiologists without, without increasing the false positives. While it’s just one study, it shows how much potential AI-assisted medicine could have when implemented well.
Encouraging results that show AI's potential to transform healthcare.
We're already seeing significant benefits of AI delivering quicker diagnosis & treatment in the NHS.
That’s why we've recently pledged £21M for the swift rollout of AI across the NHS.

1. DALL-E 3 Leaks?
A Discord leaker who claims to have access to OpenAI’s latest DALL-E 3 image generation model has shown off some test images that show pretty significant advances. The new model can apparently handle text in images and also shows sophistication in more difficult areas such as concept spillover (see the cheese animals below). Separately NVIDIA has released research about a new image model that can run on a phone with surprisingly accurate results.

If AI collects your data in a forest and no-one is around to watch it then what happens? ❤️🌲
