Even as Google is working to build AI, it’s also trying to fight AI’s use to game its SEO ranking systems. The company rolled out a set of changes designed to combat the worst abuses of its system, with a side of Generative AI spam.

American companies have been furiously working to find chips that are sufficiently powerful to attract the Chinese market but sufficiently weak to clear US export restriction thresholds. AMD’s latest has missed the mark.

A group of 200 or more researchers and others have signed an open letter imploring companies like OpenAI and Google to allow them to investigate and test their models for potential problems without fear or reprisal.
