5. Google Introduces “Help Me Write”

We’ve called 2024 a year of AI integration, where AI comes to all the applications you use every day. Along those lines, Google has started rolling out a “Help Me Write” feature for Chrome that integrates Gemini-powered writing assistance across the web.

Boy did Elon go OFF yesterday. In the wake of Gemini being taken down around issues of representation and historical inaccuracy, Elon went on a tirade about the need for unbiased AI. Here are some of the hits:

3. OpenAI Updates the GPT Builder and Store

The GPT Store is getting increased functionality with a new update. Users will now be able to rate GPTs publicly, as well as provide private feedback to the creators. The experience is getting distinctly more social.

2. Stability Releases Stable Diffusion 3

Stability AI has released the latest version of its Stable Diffusion model and the early reviews are extremely positive. It appears to handle text much better than past versions, which is becoming increasingly important for AI image generators.

Think Sora and AI more broadly aren’t having an impact yet? Think again. Tyler Perry had been planning an $800m expansion of his Atlanta studio, but has put plans on hold, specifically because of Sora. He said in an interview “Being told that it can do all of these things is one thing, but actually seeing the capabilities, it was mind-blowing.”
