5. Runway Now Turns Midjourney Images into Videos
Generative video darling Runway has released a Gen 2 update with a feature that has really captured AI Twitter’s attention: the ability to automatically animate Midjourney images. This was a feature Pika Labs had also previously released, showing how competition is driving things forward.
🚨 Runway makes a move in response to Pikalabs!
This is very exciting!
✨ GEN-2 ✨ from @runwayml can now generate video from a start image, as @pikalabs already did, but with new levels of quality!
As simple as you can see in this video!

4. US Senator Introduces Anti-AI Surveillance Bill
Well, actually, Senator Bob Casey introduced two bills. The first bill — the “No Robot Bosses Act” — would prevent employers from using exclusively AI to make hiring decisions. The second — the Exploitative Workplace Surveillance and Technologies Task Force Act — would create a task force to examine workplace surveillance.
3. Sergey Brin Secretly Working on Next DeepMind Model
In a demonstration of just how essential AI is to the future of Google, co-founder Sergey Brin has been back in the office three to four days per week working on their new Gemini AI model, according to a report from the Wall Street Journal.

2. Cerebras Signs $100m Supercomputer Deal
While Nvidia continues to dominate AI compute, a new $100m deal between Cerebras and UAE-based G42 could suggest that more competition is coming online. G42 has agreed to purchase three of Cerebras’s new 4 exaflop Condor Galaxy systems, with discussions for six more.
Accelerated compute is a massively constrained resource. As shareholders of both $NVDA and Cerebras we celebrate this competition which gives governments & enterprises more choice in AI compute. Read below how u can use now! A win for @G42@G42aid for US CHIPS 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸. @RoK@RoKhannap

1. White House Secures AI Pledge from 7 Leading Companies
AI continues to be a main focus for the Biden Administration. Today, the White House announced that seven AI companies including Meta, Microsoft, OpenAI, Anthropic and more had agreed to a set of voluntary principles to help support the responsible development of AI. President Biden will speak on the topic at 1:30pm.
Important agreement btwn WH & AI leaders.
Key omission: a requirement that companies disclose their data sets. As a society, we must insist on full data transparency, to compensate content creators, to combat bias, and to discern limits on models.
