Using new tools for Unity from Replica Studios, someone went around in The Matrix Awakens game convincing AI-powered NPCs that they’re not real with some fairly mindblowing results. One step closer to layers upon layers of simulation.

4. ChatGPT Custom Instructions to Build Autogpt?

One of the big AI launches from last week was ChatGPT’s new “Custom Instruction” feature which allows users to provide persistent context about who they are and how they want ChatGPT to answer their queries. Welp, some clever folks have figured out how to use it to code a basic version of an Autogpt-type agent.

3. Apple’s Patent for Brain-Computer Interface Airpods

While we all know that patent filings don’t necessarily mean products are coming, it’s still pretty interesting to see Apple filing a patent for an EEG-integrated Airpod. We have a feeling the conversation about brain-computer interfaces is going to increase dramatically in short order.

2. Elon’s Twitter X.com is “Powered by AI”

The $44B question: is Elon’s killing the “Twitter” brand to launch "X” genius or lunacy? While that debate rages on Twitter…errr on X, the new CEO of whatever it’s called used her announcement post to tout how the new thing is “powered by AI.” Any guesses as to what that actually means?

1. OpenAI’s Sam Altman Launches Worldcoin — UBI for AI Age?

Speaking of things people aren’t really sure how to feel about…Worldcoin is live. The hyper-ambitious project from OpenAI founder Sam Altman is meant to create the foundation for a global currency and a wealth mechanism for an AI-generated age of abundance. Critics say the eye-scanning, identity-capturing approach is part and parcel of a dystopian hellscape. What do you think?
